A little recap. Just in case you have no clue who I am. I am Callie. I’m a mother to three boys. A wife to Toby. I’ve just published my first novel, Tangled Webs. It’s part of a trilogy. Next book to be published in July. The third in July 2028. That sounds like such a long way away. I have no doubt it will creep up on me though.
I’m in my 29th week of pregnancy. We are moving from Devon to The Highlands of Scotland in the next couple of weeks.
I have decided to hit the paid subscription button to protect my family. My longer, more personal rambles tend to forage about into matters that lots of people are wary of. Miscarriage. Addiction. Parenting health and safety.
Over the years I have fielded a lot of vitriol and criticism. It flows in on a daily basis. So this is my way of building a dam as we build a new home and settle in to our new environment up North. Hopefully all the supportive and creative people- who I love to talk to - can filter through and all the undesirables can stay on the other side of the wall.

Please bear with me as I navigate this new set up. I’m learning. The younger boys are rampaging around me wearing unpacked boxes pretending to be dinosaurs in full armour. The noise is rather distracting. Tech support in the form of my eldest - who is 15 - and my husband - are on standby!

You are an amazing human being! I sadly cannot afford to upgrade but I will in future if possible. I’m twice your age but share so many interests and I have only ever seen you/will always see you, as brave, talented, beautiful and strong. As I’m making plans to return for a long overdue trip to Scotland I hope to be able to follow your continued moving plans.
